LUMBAR DISC HERNIATION PAIN

Spreading of pain from hip to leg like electric cable. Complaints of the pain that spread from the hip to the leg like a electric cable, and numbness in the leg are seen in patients with lumbar disc herniation. In addition, loss of strength in leg can be seen in patients with serious lumbar disc herniation. The severity of low back pain is directly related to the grade of hernia, and the nerve compression caused by the hernia. The small sized hernias are usually treated with drug treatment, rest, physical therapy, or injections made to joints in lumbar region, and around the nerves, because the nerves are not over-compressed by the small sized hernias. Since the large sized hernias are cause for severe nerve compression, the pain it causes is intolerable and can not be treated with any painkiller. Usually in patients with lumbar disc herniation; the coughing, straining or sneezing cause an increase in pain in lumbar and hip. Sometimes the lumbar disc herniation pain becomes so unbearable, the patients may feel severe pain enough to ask from their physicians to amputate their leg to get rid of the pain. To sum up; the lumbar disc herniation pain spreads from the inside of hip's to leg. The small sized hernias that not compress nerve too much can be treated without surgery. But the large sized hernias that severely compress nerve do not benefit from non-surgical treatments. I wish everyone painless days.
